Saffron plant structure
Saffron is a perennial and herbaceous plant with a tuberous underground stem called worm (coriander) which is called saffron onion. The saffron onion is solid, spherical in shape and with a brown coating that is placed underground. The flower is the first part of the plant to emerge from the soil in mid-autumn.
Saffron properties
Brewed saffron is rich in vitamin C, so it is highly effective in strengthening the immune system and leads to the prevention of colds. It is worth mentioning that every 100 grams of saffron has 80 mg of natural vitamin C with high absorption capacity.
